Grassroots Activist Guild

A Training Ground for Activists: The GAG Unschool in Asheville, North Carolina

A critical component of the Grassroots Activist Guild is the Unschool, a center for activist training and empowerment aimed at a cross-section of ages and community demographics. The goal of the Unschool is to provide activists with the knowledge they need to be effective, and to collect and disseminate this knowledge gleaned from real-world experience and examples.
The Grassroots Activist Guild Unschool widely invites grassroots organizers for weekend skill-shares, and continuously presents workshops and classes on community organizing skills.

Sample topics include:

-Community Outreach
-Opposition Research
-Canvassing
-Tech Activism
-Media Relations
-Independent Media
-The Consensus  Process
-Mediation and Non-Violent Communication
