Our Mission: The Grassroots Activist Guild is an organization committed to fostering the growth of a global transformational movement by acting in solidarity with the practices and ideals of community empowerment, sustainability, DIY-culture and dual power structures, and by inciting activists and organizers to utilize cooperative and dynamic tactics aimed at affecting true change in a time of burgeoning cultural revolution.

Welcome to the Grassroots Activist Guild's website. We are a community-focused non-profit based in Asheville, North Carolina with a vision that transcends global boundaries. We believe that when people come together and create strong, interdependent relationships in their communities and social networks, necessary and far-reaching social change can be achieved. GAG promotes the idea of mutual aid and the creation of dual power systems that both challenge mainstream institutions and offer working alternatives, in the form of more equitable and grassroots-based education, health, work, food and governing practices. We want to help organizations, individuals and communities go beyond awareness and simple resistance, and use knowledge gained and their energy to oppose the current cultural maelstrom to substantively choose a different path and help their lifestyle evolve accordingly.
